FAQ

Does Roavic support CarPlay?

Yes — Roavic is built as a CarPlay navigation app. Connect your iPhone, open Roavic on the car display, and tap Start. The GPX route, map, maneuvers, ETA, and voice guidance sync between phone and dashboard.

How do I start navigation on CarPlay?

Import a GPX on iPhone, connect CarPlay, and open Roavic on your car screen. Tap Start on CarPlay, or start from iPhone — both work. You can also open the route picker on CarPlay to choose a recent GPX import.

What can I control from the CarPlay screen?

Start and stop navigation, pick recent routes, zoom the map, switch between follow and overview camera, and toggle voice guidance — without picking up your phone.

Does CarPlay follow the exact GPX track?

Yes. Roavic draws the imported GPX on the CarPlay map and navigates along that polyline. Unlike Apple Maps, it does not replace your route with a different street path.

What file types are supported?

Roavic works with .gpx files — the standard format for GPS routes and tracks from Strava, Komoot, Garmin, and other tools.

Can I open GPX files from other apps?

Yes. Use Share from Files, Mail, Safari, AirDrop, or any app that exports GPX. Roavic appears in the share sheet.

How is this different from Apple Maps?

Apple Maps routes between addresses. Roavic follows the exact track in your GPX file — on iPhone and CarPlay — ideal for planned rides, drives, and club routes.
